Will The ‘Kimye’ Marriage Last?

Will it, or will it not…that is the question. Or for many on social media, how long will it last is the question. Many are betting on a 71 day marriage, in remembrance of Kim Kardashian’s short-lived 72 day marriage to Kris Humphries.

Kanye West proposed to Kardashian in the extraordinary over-the-top fashion that was quite expected of the couple; renting San Francisco’s AT&T Park, and presenting her with a 15-carat diamond ring with a 50 piece orchestra playing Lana Del Rey’s ‘Young and Beautiful’, while the jumbotron read “Pleeease Marry Meee!!!”.

The Kardashian family was present to witness this joyous and supposedly private event. Regardless of the fact that the to-be-Mrs. West wore a lovely lilac and white $6,800USD Valentino dress to a stadium, we are expected to believe it came as a complete surprise to the blushing and crying future bride.

The ring is a bit of a downgrade for Kardashian, who was proposed to with a 20-carat diamond ring by basketball player Kris Humphries in 2011, costing a whopping $2 million. The ring was auctioned off for a mere $620,000 this month with proceeds going to an unnamed charity.

Perhaps, Wests’ 15-carat ring means a whole lot more to Kardashian, having given birth to their daughter, the uniquely named North West, four months ago.

West is ecstatic about his first wedding. In an interview given to San Francisco based Hip Hop and R&B radio-station KMEL106, he stated "I've never loved any girl other than my mother as much as I love my girlfriend. And I'm so happy to be with her, for us to live this life together and with our relationship with God to be able to live forever in heaven together too. And also to raise a strong family."

Kardashian expressed similar thoughts last year in an interview given to ANOKHI MEDIA's CEO Raj Girn. "I want someone who is a friend first and foremost – someone who knows the real Kim before the show, someone who is ambitious yet understanding, smart and funny."

She went on to say she believes she has found that person, referring to West.

As much as the couple (supposedly) hopes for privacy, the world will be closely observing the upcoming wedding and marital life.

Her extremely lavish wedding to Kris Humphries was widely publicized, with him later opting for a divorce claiming that Kardashian staged the wedding to benefit her immense popularity as the reigning reality TV queen.

She was previously also married to music producer Damon Thomas, having eloped with him at the young age of 19.
