Toronto Fashion Week is officially a wrap! We saw a few key trends on the runway that you need to be rocking.
Olive was a power tone for the season while gold was associated with glamour. Pastels were playful but paired well with monochromatic tones for a sophisticated look. And fur and faux fur are always luxurious!
So let’s get to the highlights of Days 3 and 4 plus an honourable mention.
Pale pink and olive tones featured throughout the collection. The theme combined military and romance. Gold accents appeared in the detailing and leopard prints created an edge. Favourites: a pale pink mesh and silk dress paired with an olive overcoat, a mesh turtleneck and an olive draped top and leopard skater dress.

Designer Hilary MacMillan opted for a cruelty-free collection for her F/W 16, featuring faux fur scarves, vests and outerwear. Pale pink separates and jumpsuits paired well with neutral tones. The designer created an ultra-feminine collection. Favourites: a pale pink tailored suit and pantsuit and a soft white halter-and-skirt set.

Chatto’s recreation of the Danish love story La Sylphide was the inspiration for his F/W 17 collection. Repurposed furs ranged in tones from deep shades of red, purple and olive to a softer palette of pink, mauve and caramel. Belted chubby furs were breathtaking while the men looked sharp in plaid printed suits. Favourites: a chubby belted chinchilla vest, a rose-coloured full-length fur coat and a colour-blocked chocolate and white coat.

Designer Hayley Elsaesser is a favourite among fashion lovers every season. Her cheeky prints and vibrant pops of colour are always a pleasure to see on the runway. Favourites: a silk print skater dress and a candy-coloured block sweater dress.

An honourable mention for Day 2 goes to Soskan Studios. Montreal designer Marisa Minicucci designed an outstanding collection for Soskan Studios. It was one of my favourites this season! Minicucci showcased a range of statement outerwear with unique detailing. Some key looks were a patterned quilted jacket and a rich-hued mixture of textured coats. Favourites: everything!
