Superstar in his own right yet rookie in hosting an awards show, actor Salman Khan made his debut as an Awards show host at the 8th Renault Star Guild Awards 2013 which was held Saturday, Feb 16th at the Yash Raj Studios.
"I do come in award shows for red carpet and performances but today I have come to host a show for the first time and I am very nervous. I don't know how will it go but I hope it goes well," Khan said.
According to Zee News both 'Vicky Donor' and 'Barfi' won seven awards each in the popular and technical category. Among the seven 'Barfi!' won best film, lead actor Ranbir Kapoor scored best actor while actor Ayushmann Khuranna took home the award for most promising debut for 'Vicky Donor'. Priyanka Chopra won the shining star award for her performance in 'Barfi!' and 'Agneepath' while acclaimed actress Vidya Balan took home best actress for 'Kahaani'.

Veteran actor Manoj Kumar received the lifetime achievement award for his extensive contribution to Indian cinema and the two main television awards that were handed out was the best non-fiction series which went to 'Crime Patrol' and the best ongoing drama fiction which was awarded to 'Bade Acche Lagte Hain'.

Among the star studded red carpet we noticed a few surprises. Anushka Sharma shocked the media by turning up on the red carpet in a sari. This is the first time that the actress had opted for the traditional Indian garb and she chose a Manish Malhotra creation for her entrance.

than what we've come to expect of the actress. Note the interesting design of the blouse, quite the opposite from her traditional image which she paired with a a sleek updo, a change from her flowing tresses.

Race 2 actress, Jacqueline Fernandez made a flirty choice with this fun Lanvin heart shaped, full on printed gown.
