Up Your Brow Game
Brows are such an underappreciated part of the face yet account for 25 percent of emotion. I like to call them sisters not twins as one is always rounder than the other. Keeping them groomed and as symmetrical as possible is easy with these tips.
To start off, disinfect skin and brow area with rubbing alcohol. Brush brows upwards with a brow brush or clean mascara wand. Using little scissors, trim any excess hair. Just be careful not to cut too much or brows will look too sparse. Brush and blend again until the results look nice and neat.
Tweezing
For all of your tweezing needs Tweezerman is the best. Bonus – Tweezerman offers complimentary sharpening.
To shape brows, see the diagram and follow the guide. Use a magnifying mirror for perfect precision.
Using angled tweezers is great for longer hairs. Pointed tweezers are perfect for tiny hairs that have not fully grown in.
Best Tips: Apply ice to brows and brow bone before tweezing and dry well. The cold will help numb any pain and irritation.
Clean tweezers with rubbing alcohol and keep in a dry place to prevent rusting.
Soothe brows by applying a little aloe.
Fill Brows
Filling brows in can be done in a few ways. They are all great, just a personal choice.
Gimme Brow by Benefit is amazing. This brow volumizing fibre gel comes in 2 shades – for lighter and darker brows. Simply stroke the precision shaped brush along the hairs.
Eyeshadow may also be used along with an eyeliner brush. Simply draw in little hairs matching your hair colour. Use a brow brush to blend.
Best Tips – Never use a black or white eye shadow. They appear too harsh.
Use a dark brown and taupe shadow instead. If you have highlights in your hair, I like to lighten the brows a little to match.
Use only matte eye shadow colours for a natural result.
Dry eyeshadow is great for a softer look and wet eye shadow is great for a more defined look.
A brow pencil is another great way to fill in brows. I love the Tarte EmphasEYES for brows High Definition Pencil. This pencil is four times smaller than the average so it allows you to draw in little hairs that look so natural.
The formulation contains botanical ingredients including aloe, vitamin A and E as well as a patented plant based wax that keeps brows looking their best all day. No artificial colours or parabens.
The pencil is double ended and contains a little brush to blend in colour and tame any unruly hairs. It is Available at Sephora Stores.
If you have very sparse brows, Latisse works wonders. It also works really well on eyelashes. Apply a drop to each brow at night. Within a few weeks, hairs will grow and look fantastic.
Set Brows
I love the Brow Seal by Makeup Forever. It is transparent in colour so it works for everyone.
The brush has a great shape for perfect precision.
I love that it provides the perfect finish – no sheen as well as no flakes when drying.
Best Tip – If you are in a pinch, hairspray works wonders as well.
Simply spray on a brow brush or clean mascara wand and brush through.
I hope you have enjoyed these tips. Let us know your pick.
