The "edge" design incorporates "edge software," which allows the edge of the screen to have personalized, programmable buttons to suit the user’s preferences. Some of these programming features focus on communicating with the user’s most popular email and phone contacts. Plus, edge software incorporates notification alerts that users can see on the side of the phone, separate from the rest of the phone’s screen.
