Rich cream fabrics with bold splashes of colour. Intricate gold leafing. Turbans bedecked with strings of pearls. Signature gemstones to underscore sheer opulence.
Rohit Verma has unveiled his latest Indian royal collection at India’s Luxury Style Week 2015 – Men’s Edition, and it's anything but simple. The designer showcased the decadent collection this month and wowed the crowd with opulent pieces that could have any man feeling like the fresh prince of Bombay.
Verma’s runway show was fuelled with some star power as some of Bollywood’s leading gents strutted their stuff for the debut of the maharaja-inspired collection.
The ever-dapper silver screen actor Rohit Roy was resplendent in a cream-and-gold Afghani-inspired sherwani ensemble with billowy pleated pants. Roy was all praise for the fashion designer’s elegant new line.

Joining Roy on the runway, Bollywood choreographer Sandip Soparrkar turned heads in a brilliant red sherwani and white lehnga with gold-plumed turban.

“I had a great time walking in this royal Maharaja attire for Rohit,” enthused Soparrkar. “He always makes me look different from usual. His sense of styling is unique and I always enjoy walking for him.”
The lavish collection, which included floral designs on deep hues of regal blue and embellished crimson, was an easy choice for Verma, who says he’s had his eye on infusing some of the bygone era into his work.

“I like this whole idea of periodic royal look and I always wanted to try this,” says Verma. “India's luxury style week just gave me the required chance to showcase my most favourite royal collection and I'm happy it came out well.”
India Luxury Style Week kicked off with Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar walking the runway for designer and show creator Ramesh Dembla. The five-day affair focuses on the Indian luxury fashion market.
