Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty pair up for a massive takeover on August 19th with the release of Ranveer Ching!
The picture is one of the most closely guarded film sets of all time! The whole cast and crew signed non-disclosure agreements, and mobile phones and cameras were off-limits. So, when news broke of juggernaut Rohit Shetty signing the most exciting young superstar of today, Ranveer Singh, the Internet was already on fire. Everyone was surprised about this massive collaboration!

So, for those of you a bit confused by this news, let's set one thing straight. Ranveer Ching is not a brand-new film hitting theatres. It's a video advertisement directed by Rohit Shetty and starring Ranveer Singh to continue the actor's brand endorsement of a noodle brand called "Chings"!
Many of you may recall Singh in a music video for Ching's noodles brand titled "My Name Is Ranveer Ching," which was a quirky way of promoting the brand.

A few days ago, Ranveer Singh hinted about his collaboration with filmmaker Rohit Shetty that kept everyone wondering whether it was a movie or an ad. Well, he's back with the same brand, but this time on a larger scale. Ranveer Singh is starring in a large-scale-production music video titled "Ranveer Ching Returns" alongside Baahubali actress Tamannah Bhatia. Rohit Shetty's ad film features his patent action-packed scenes with cars, motorbikes and some extravagant outfits with Ranveer fighting villains as the world runs out of food.
The film also features South superstar Tamannaah paired with Ranveer for the first time.

The first look showcases massive sets, huge action sequences and all the ingredients of a humongous commercial blockbuster. It takes both Rohit and Ranveer into territories they’ve never explored before. Set in a dystopian future, the film is apparently an Indo-Chinese collaboration set to release in multiple languages globally — with dubs in several South languages.
However, before its release, the film will have to put out a few fires. Accusations of appropriation and racism are surfacing before the film title even hits marquees. It's common for Bollywood movies to have inappropriate cultural representations, and with this ad, some people on social media object to the disrespectful use of Native American warriors' feathered headbands.
The title of the film and Ranveer's character "Ranveer Ching" also has raised a lot of eyebrows — and not in a good way. Many people from the Indo-Chinese community have protested the name "Ching." It inappropriately references Chinese culture and heritage and has long been used as a derogatory, racist language against the global Chinese community.
Regardless, the film is scheduled to hit cinemas worldwide on August 19th, 2016. A massive premiere has been planned in Mumbai, followed by a big digital launch. Next will come the World Satellite premiere, where (apparently) Sony Television Network has already picked up exclusive rights for an undisclosed figure.
