Priyanka Chopra Wins At 2016 People’s Choice Awards For Quantico In Los Angeles
Entertainment Jan 07, 2016
Indian cinema superstar, Bollywood beauty and top FBI recruit at Quantico Priyanka Chopra walked away with an award and accolades galore at the 2016 People's Choice Awards in Los Angeles.
Are we really surprised? From the minute Priyanka Chopra set foot in Hollywood we knew she was creating magic. As if her unique musical endeavours, headlining NFL's Thursday Night Football for two years in a row, and the sky high TV ratings and online craze for Quantico weren't enough already!
With the first half of Quantico successfully completed (the final half of the first season will continue in March 2016) it was at Thursday night's People's Choice Awards where the Hollywood future of Quantico and Priyanka Chopra was pretty much cemented. Forget critics and high profile acting associations, the North American public voted Priyanka Chopra as Favourite Actress in a New TV Series giving her not only the coveted title and the crystal hardware but some serious bragging rights too. Chopra has become the first South Asian to ever win a People's Choice Award in Hollywood. That's huge! A milestone! A win that has set the benchmark for current and future South Asian performers.

And of course, as you can remember from the video above, Chopra thanks her manager too. In fact, her manager, Anjula Acharia Bath, has been the mastermind behind Chopra's Hollywood career and presence.

It was Acharia-Bath's vision early on to create strong ethnic representation from the South Asian community in mainstream culture and media which she never had growing up. It was this fierce vision that led to the start of Chopra's music career so far including three hit international singles with big name music collaborators and players such as Acharia-Bath herself, Red One, Troy Carter, Jimmy Iovine, Will I Am, Pitbull and many others.
Once her music was in full swing, Chopra landed a holding agreement with ABC Television which led to her lead role in Quantico which premiered in September 2015 to some serious viewership with ratings sky rocketing domestically and internationally. With Acharia-Bath's help, Chopra has managed to successfully plant her feet in Hollywood's tinseltown with her future looking bright.

But the fun didn't just start there! It was a firestorm of activity online as Chopra gave us sneak peeks throughout the day at her then upcoming stage appearance at the award show. Giving us a peek into her hair and makeup tables, and even scarfing down a bacon cheeseburger before she hit the red carpet. Oh PC, don't we just love her!

Aside from her win, Chopra also made it to a lot of best dressed lists, topping some too. She hit the red carpet with a sparkly, sequined Spring 2016 Vera Wang dress. Her dress was accessorized with pointed silver Jimmy Choo foot candy, earrings from Leticia Linton & Anita Ko and rings from Djula and H. Stern. A fierce looking updo, smokey eyes and a somewhat nude lip finished her look.
Chopra even received some major props for her red carpet look from ace celebrity blogger Perez Hilton!
This will certainly be a night in Chopra's career that was destined to make history. What are your thoughts on her win at #PCA16 and her making history for the global South Asian community?
