Prime Minister Narendra Modi Joins Mark Zuckerberg for a Townhall Q&A at Facebook HQ

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been quick to embrace social media in all its forms, from his 15 million followers on Twitter, and the 30 million likes on his Facebook page. So it's especially intriguing to hear Modi will participate in a townhall Q&A with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg at the headquarters in Silicon Valley on September 27.
Modi and Zuckerberg met in India last year with much fanfare and photo ops to discuss how India could digitally expand with social media and new media.
This time, Zuckerberg extended his invitation to Modi to engage with the public through an online forum where people can post questions to the announcement post or via the Narendra Modi app (yes he's the only world leader with his own app!).

The pair will be addressing social and economic concerns at their townhall. "Prime Minister Modi and I will discuss how communities can work together to address social and economic challenges. We want to hear your questions. Please ask them in the comments below and we'll try to get to as many as possible."

In spite of Modi winning over the public with his eponymous monogrammed suit, and being the subject of memes online, the forum will allow the public to ask some hard questions about his policies. His recent labour laws, which make it easier for companies to hire and fire workers, have prompted several strikes across the country with millions of workers walking off the job to protest. In theory, it's a good ploy for Modi to divert attentions away from his controversial policies.

Currently, the post has over 3,900 comments and questions, along with Zuckerberg's post receiving 39,000 comments. Apart from this Facebook meeting, the next day is a bigger event as Modi sits down for his third bilateral summit with U.S. President Barack Obama. He's also stopping by Google's headquarters and visiting the Tesla Factory, according to the San Jose Mercury News reports.
It'll be interesting to see what questions they answer and whether Modi and Zuckerberg might be held accountable for some of their past controversies and present policies.
