The PCJ Delhi Couture Week, a unique platform to showcase the finest Indian couture in its fourth edition, brings to the forefront the craftsmanship of nine of India’s leading couturiers.
The five-day fashion event from July 31st – Aug 4th, 2013 at The Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi captured the rich handcrafted, and exquisite design exploration by the fashion industry’s geniuses.
The PCJ Delhi Couture Week 2013 was attended by the who’s who of the Capital and Indian fashion from business honchos, industrialists, retailers, editors, social celebs, and film and television actors.
It is also an excellent opportunity for fashion talent to exchange ideas and creative inputs. Top Indian designers through a series of riveting shows made these five days a blend of contemporary art and modern aesthetics as models gear up to celebrate a season of luxe style.
The Week celebrates India’s ever lasting love for luxury and fine taste in high end couture, a legacy carried forward since the days of Maharajas.

Manish Malhotra's collection was inspired by the princely states of India in the 1930s, an era celebrating opulence. The silhouettes and embroidery echoed the splendour of Indian – European architecture.
The cross-cultural ties created a very unique genre of fashion and culture – an old-world mix of traditional Indian motifs, and the influences of British culture on the affluent Indian Lifestyle.
French shoe designer Christian Louboutin worked closely with Manish Malhotra for his Couture show, using existing shoe designs which were specially fabricated to complement the collection. The models walked the ramp in these stunning creations, which were a striking mélange of Manish Malhotra’s craftsmanship and Louboutin’s designs.
PC Jewellers flaunted Satya Paul's debut demi-couture collection on day 3 of the PCJ Delhi Couture Week.
The capsule collection was an introduction to the extended line of Satya Paul couture, to be launched later this year. To add to the beauty of the brand's first ever demi-couture presentation, striking models and stars scorched the ramp in PCJ's breathtaking Polki and Diamond jewellery to add the sparkle to the panorama.
The stalwart created a beautiful bridge between contemporary and archaism using exquisite PC Jeweller 'couture collections' to add glitter, glamour and glitz to his unique collections.
Known for their prints and ready-to-wear bridal looks, the brand, in association with PCJ, is introducing Demi Couture, a movement that began in 2004, to the Indian ramp. The word 'demi' means 'half', so 'Demi Couture' literally means 'half-couture'. The idea of Satya Paul Demi Couture is to create something more intricate and detailed than pret, yet accessible when compared to haute couture.
Fashion designer Anamika Khanna took a cue from Indian elements – like the Maharashtrian-style sari drape, Lucknowi chikankari work and the traditional maang-tika – for her couture showcase here.
Designer Varun Bahl’s collection closed the the day with a mix of revved up energy and a celebration of effervescent romance.
The models strutted down the ramp, which had all the drama one could ask for — complete with a luxury car parked on the runway. Sheer pallus, flowers infused with a vintage vibe and glittery birds that adorned sari hems laced the collection with soft glam. Bahl’s signature use of black was interspersed with a smattering of warm canary yellow and hues of red.
