I am very happy to announce five additions to the celebrity roster for our 12th Anniversary Event: legendary UK music producer Rishi Rich, TV actress Karen David, renowned bhangra deejay DJ Rekha, comedian Ali Hassan, and alternative pop artist Zameer Rizvi. They join previously announced celebrities: celebrity fashion designer Archana Kochhar, legendary bhangra artist Manj Musik, ‘Breakaway’ & ‘Dr. Cabbie’ star Vinay Virmani and stand-up comedian Danish Anwar.

To recap: Taking place at the historical Fairmont Royal York Hotel located in downtown Toronto on Saturday, March 28, 2015, the anniversary show celebrates some of the world’s most renowned names in entertainment, fashion, media and lifestyle. The evening will begin with a red carpet celebrity reception with all of the celebrity attendees and hosts. Following that, a 3-course dinner, an awards ceremony, an exclusive industry after party and an exclusive unveiling of the commemorative coffee table book will take place. Over 800 guests will be attending the glamorous event.
And now about our celebrity attendees…
Karen David is a multi-talented actress and singer-songwriter who works in film, television, stage and music. She is currently starring in ABC’s hit TV drama ‘Galavant’. Karen was discovered by composer A.R. Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire) who, impressed by her talents, invited her to help develop the soundtrack for the Bollywood-themed musical Bombay Dreams alongside Andrew Lloyd Webber and Don Black.
Rishi Rich has worked in the music business for over 20 years, and is now an award-winning music producer, having received several accolades throughout his lifetime, including the 'Award for Excellence' at the Asian Woman Magazine Awards and 'Best Producer' at the UKAMAs (Asian Music Awards). He has worked with several renowned artists such as Madonna, Britney Spears, Ricky Martin, Westlife, Mis-teeq and many more, and has the hit title-track to Bollywood movie ‘Hum Tum’ to his credit.
Legendary Basement Bhangra Deejay, DJ Rekha is also a curator, record label owner and educator. Called the "Ambassador of Bhangra" by the New York Times and named one of the most influential South Asians by Newsweek, Rekha is among the first deejays to merge classic Bhangra and Bollywood sounds into the language of contemporary electronic dance music. Rekha has produced some of the longest-running and most successful parties in New York, including Bollywood Disco, and Mutiny. Rekha also produces a weekly radio show, Bhangra and Beyond.
Zameer Rizvi is a Canadian singer/songwriter, musician and composer known for referencing social and political issues in his music. Rizvi's poignant writing style landed him in controversy with songs such as 'Mind Over Murder' and 'Tatti' which challenge socio-political norms of the Middle East and South Asia. Rizvi’s hit single ‘'Glory of Love' climbed to #73 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in Canada. The album also snagged Rizvi the title of 'Hot Shot Debut' and #5 on the Billboard Emerging Artists chart.
A touring comedy headliner and Canadian Comedy Award Nominee, actor-comedian Ali Hassan is also the host of Laugh Out Loud on CBC Radio & SIRIUSXM, a show with a listenership of over 1 million people. He was also the Lead Comedy Panellist on CBC Television's George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight, recording over 165 episodes since 2012. He is a recurring character on PBS Kids' Odd Squad, YTV's upcoming show The Game, and FXX's Man Seeking Woman. Ali was also featured in the films French Immersion, Breakaway and GOON.
