To recap: The event is taking place at the historical Fairmont Royal York Hotel in downtown Toronto on Saturday, March 28, 2015. This star-studded event celebrates some of the world’s most renowned personalities in entertainment, fashion, media and lifestyle. The evening will begin with a red carpet celebrity reception with all of the celebrity attendees and hosts. Following that, a 3-course dinner, an awards-entertainment-fashion show, an exclusive industry gala after party, along with our exclusive unveiling of the commemorative coffee table book, THE ANOKHI LIST 2015. Over 800 guests will be attending the glamorous event across all aspects of the programming.

Born and raised in Toronto, Sangita Patel is a well-known host for Canada's premier national entertainment show ET Canada. Having graduated from university with a degree in engineering, Sangita Patel has always had a passion for performing. In her current role at ET Canada, Patel has interviewed some of the world's biggest starts, including George Clooney.
Pooja Handa has extensively covered politics and entertainment. As the co-host of CP24 Breakfast, a popular Canadian morning television news program, Pooja Handa is no stranger to Torontonians. Her success over the years has earned her assignments covering prestigious events including the Toronto International Film Festival and the 40th anniversary of the Juno Awards. Handa also won the 2015 Top Choice Award for Best Female Television Personality.
Jake Dheer is Senior Operations Manager for Rogers TV, serving the Region of Peel and Simcoe, Bruce, Grey and Dufferin Counties. He served as Chairman of Carassauga in 2001 and 2002, Mississauga Board Of Trade in 2008, Mayor Hazel McCallion’s Gala for the Arts, Culture and Heritage in 2010 and Sheridan College’s Big Picture Gala in 2010 and 2012. Jake remains a strong community activist on boards of several organizations including City of Mississauga’s Economic Development Advisory Board, Mississauga Chinese Business Association, Brampton Chinese Business Association, Trillium Health Partners Foundation, Heritage Mississauga, Mississauga Tourism West Toronto Advisory Board, Mississauga Sports Council, Legends Row Founding Member, Community Living Mississauga Tribute Dinner Committee, United Way of Peel Region, William Osler Health System Foundation’s Holi Gala and Volunteer MBC to name a few. He is also the Honourary Chairman for the Alzheimer Society of Peel and The Liberty Silver Foundation for the Arts.
Veronica Chail is the producer, writer and host of Bollywood Boulevard, Canada's leading Bollywood TV show, which airs new episodes weekly on CityTV and OMNI TV. In 2012, Chail was named one of Hello! Magazine Canada's 50 Most Beautiful Canadians. She continues to give back to the community as the ambassador for [free-them], an organization dedicated to human rights initiatives and anti-trafficking. She is also one of the ambassadors for the Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards.
Over the past 15 years, Raoul Juneja has earned a reputation as Canada’s preeminent media expert on urban & South Asian music, bringing the two genres together on TV for the first time 4 years ago as co-creator of the Canadian Screen Award nominated national TV show “V-Mix” on OMNI. Active on both sides of the camera, Raoul’s recent interviews on V-Mix have included the likes of Ashanti, Grandmaster Flash, Afrika Bambaataa and DJ Premier. Having founded his own ‘Hip-Hop Literacy’ campaign after university, Raoul currently speaks at Canadian schools about the positive influences of hip-hop culture.
Originally from Mumbai, India, Dilshad Burman had her TV debut in 2011 when she got her big break and landed her first hosting gig for OMNI TV reporting from the red carpet at the International Indian Film Academy Awards. As the host of OMNI TV's V-Mix, Burman was also nominated for the RBC Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Awards and was listed as one of EventCombo's 50 Coolest People of 2014.
Uppala Chandrasekera, M.S.W., RSW, has worked at the frontlines providing direct support to individuals and families with mental health and addiction issues. Currently, Uppala serves as the Vice Chair of the Mental Health Commission of Canada, a national organization focused on improving the mental health system and changing the attitudes and behaviours of Canadians around mental health issues.
Jewel Kats is a disability advocate, an author of eleven children's books and a recipient of the 2013 Gold Gelett Burgess children's book award. After a car crash at the age of nine left her with chronic pain and low bone density in one of her legs, Kats realized her true calling – to share her experiences and empower young people with similar disabilities. Kats also inspired writer and artist Dan Parent of Archie Comics to add Harper Lodge, Veronica Lodge's cousin and the legendary comic's first disabled character.
Vivek Shraya is a Toronto-based artist has made a name for himself in the fields of music, performance, film and literature. In the literary world, Shraya's debut novel, She of the Mountains was listed as one of the best books of 2014 by the Globe and Mail. He's received numerous accolades for his film What I Love about Being Queer and he's received the 2014 Steinert and Ferreiro award in recognition of his leadership in Toronto's LGBTQ community. Shraya has proven he is a force to be reckoned with and we can't wait to see what's in store for him in 2015.
