Just Saw Kites. A Must See!

I had the privilege of being one of the few who had a sneak peak of the much anticipated summer blockbuster and boy it sure didn't disappoint!

*don't worry no spoiler alerts here..;-)

First off, it needs to be said. Barbara Mori is a STUNNER! It's any wonder why Hollywood hasn't been beating down her door (yet). This girl exudes such a natural femine beauty and is a much welcomed, refreshing change from the crazy botoxed heroines we have been so accustomed to seeing. And yes, finally she is someone whom we all can relate to.

Hrithik as usual does not disappoint. You have got to check out his dance numbers. Clearly, he has had been working on his moves, updating it and even throwing down some pretty serious breakdancing action. If, for some inexplicable reason, you forgot that this boy has some serious talent in the dancing department, you'll be quickly reminded.

From the opening scenes and onwards you realize that the camera is in very capable hands. Anurag Basu's quick edits, cuts and beautifully shot close-ups gives your eyes the cinematic candy it deserves. And I don't mean "candy" in a frivolous sense. Film students should see this movie for this technicality alone. Lessons to be learned here people.

For all you romantics out there, the chemistry between Hrithik and Barbara is very well translated onto the scene. Here you have two characters who can't speak the other's language but seem to get by and magically so. Creating such chemistry isn't easy when language is the major barrier. However in this case, it's done masterfully. Car chases and action stunts aside (which are pretty mindblowing, actually), you want to see more of them together. They are brimming with chemistry. Goofy, sexy, crazy chemistry.

There you have it. Oh, and one more thing. This film—in order to appreciate the movie's sheer awesomeness—it NEEDS to be seen in all of its big screen glory. So make the trek on today to your local theater and go ahead, bring your family (totally G-rated aside for some lip-on-lip action, but really who hasn't seen that anyways)—you will definitely enjoy this thriller of a ride.

I myself am eagerly awating to see the Brett Ratner's Remixed version.
