The Hip-Hop world will soon be graced by 'NEON'. Jay Sean will be releasing his new album on July 30! This is his fourth album with Cash Money Records.
The album is an ode to Sean’s R&B roots and is a compilation of soulful music with upbeat tracks. If you were a fan of ‘Ride it’, then you will definitely fall in love with the first single of his album ‘Mars’, which features Rick Ross! The song is already a popular hit and it’s heating up the music charts both internationally and at home!
Sean says: “Neon is my best work to date, if you want throwback, soulful music, then this is the album for you. Yes there are some fun party records on there, but this album is mostly my expression of melody and thoughtful lyrics. It took me four years to get this album out. There were set backs and difficulties along the way, but it happened as it should, because this album is truly special and I know you will love it. To my fans that waited so long, this is for you.”
The London born Sean signed with Cash Money Records in 2008. He made his U.S. debut with “All or Nothing” the following year. Initially, Sean had claimed success in 2004 with his first two albums – 2004’s “Me Against Myself” and 2008’s “My Own Way” which included hits like “Ride it” and “Maybe.”
Sean told Bollyspice that, “Mars, the current single, is actually my favourite. It is one of my favourites because using my voice in this style is something my fans only get to hear in parts. They have not actually heard me deliver a whole song like that. It is a very old school soulful way of singing. I grew up on Maxwell and DeAngelo and these guys and to do a song like this and release it as a single was a really exciting thing.”
