January Is All About Snow Day Style.

When I was a child, snow days were a sacred gift to me from the skies: a whole day of recess! To me as an adult, a day without work still often means getting bogged down by my never-ending to-do list — except on snow days. In my home, snow days are still a license for decadence.

Think you're indulging yourself by wearing those comfy college sweats? Think again.

You aren’t doing your self-confidence any favours by settling into the seductively inviting complacency of old sweats. During your downtime, there might not be any need for a power suit, but how good do you actually feel when you mindlessly throw on a t-shirt that shouldn’t see the light of day? Amazing, of course … until you walk by a mirror.

Try something new this winter and lose the synthetic sweats in favour of cashmere. If you don a quality snow day uniform (pyjamas, robe and slippers), your next lazy winter day will be a snow day to remember.

However, if you work from home, while the pros already include the option to work in your underwear, the cons include no real snow days, moments of amnesia in regard to basic human interaction and that awkward dilemma regarding your outdoor dress code. "Can I get away with yoga pants … again?" I was once given invaluable advice: show your respect for the work you do, and you will continue to take pride in yourself and your work. I personally include clothes in this dictum.
