The Importance Of Meditation
Meditation is the art and practice of silencing the mind and finding your inner peace. Meditation is how you can retreat to your personal sanctuary at any time and escape the mundane turmoils of this illusory reality.
Practicing meditation helps you be mindful. Mindfulness is the state of being present and aware of the moment you're in. Meditation also helps clear the mind of clutter, helping you attain clarity.
Health Benefits of Meditation

- better sleep
- improved digestion
- more regulated nervous system
- elevated mood
- improved self-confidence
Some of the earliest references to meditation can be found in the Hindu manuscripts called the Vedas. Today, people all around the world, of many different cultures, practice mediation. There are different forms of meditation with different techniques, but the main goal is always to centre yourself and find your inner peace by being present in the moment.
How To Meditate
- Sit up in a comfortable position with your back straight. Avoid lying down, as it might put you to sleep.
- Breathe naturally with your eyes closed.
- Focus on your breathing and how your body moves with each breath you inhale and exhale.
- Don't force or control your breathing.
- Simply observe your body and how your shoulders, chest and belly move with each breath.
- Repeat this for two to three minutes in the beginning, and then extend your session longer, as you desire.
- You'll immediately begin to feel calm and experience a relaxed state of mind, as meditation decreases your heart rate and respiratory rate.
- Enjoy your tranquil state for as long as you wish.
