Indian Bridal Fashion Week Wraps Up In Mumbai

Indian Bridal Fashion Week Mumbai (IBFW) celebrated the wedding season by showcasing upcoming trends in bridal and groom attire. A nexus of diverse designers took part in the event, which showcased featured designs through 15 shows.

IBFW has been recognized as the most aspired destination for India’s talented designers, fashionistas, celebrities and others interested in fashion. The objective of the event is to promote networking between designers and buyers, in addition to satisfying the public’s passion for fashion with a wide selection of designs.

Designer Rohit Bal showcased designs suitable for royalty detailed and handcrafted to perfection. Many of the pieces were heavily embroidered in colours of white, red, royal blue, purple, green and gold hues. The collection seemlessly combined traditional and modern elements, perfect for a royal inspired wedding.

Falguni and Shane Peacock (FSP) presented a collection that truly highlighted the essence of uniqueness with multi-functional outfits. Their signature use of feathers, sequins and prints were also ever-present. The dynamic duo’s collection stood apart not only due to their staple look but also because of the beautiful colours that were chosen.

Tarun Tahiliani’s bridal collection also combined the beauty of traditional and modern designs in both male and female pieces. His ingenius was seen through with the play on colour in his designs. Light and dark shades such as yellow, blue, red, lilac and gold set the palette for his bridal trousseau.

No fashion event would be complete without the attendance of Bollywood celebrities and the IBFW Mumbai was no exception. Riteish Deshmukh was spotted with his wife Genelia D’Souza while other celebrities also made their presence known on the catwalk. Dino Morea, Jackie Shroff, Kabir Bedi, Prachi Desai and Chitrangada Singh were photographed at the 2013 Mumbai edition of IBFW to name a few.

B-town beauties who walked the runway to showcase creations by designers included: Huma Qureshi wearing Ashima Leena and Dia Mirza in Raghavendra Rathore.
