Rick's Cafe – A Reggae Lovers Paradise

Where can you dive off a cliff while enjoying live reggae music or witness the most beautiful sunset from poolside while sipping on some Jamaican beer? Rick's Cafe! And these are just some of the reasons why Rick’s Cafe is one of the best bars in the world. It's located on the west end of Negril, Jamaica, and it has been around since 1974. Rick’s Cafe is a popular hot spot for locals and tourists alike, attracting thrillseekers, bargoers and reggae lovers from all over.

Cliff Diving
Like you should on any trip to the Caribbean, bring your bathing suit and courage to Rick’s Cafe. You will be welcomed by excited squeals and applause, as people will be cheering on divers while they take their plunge. Professional divers at Rick's Cafe display daring jumps for tips. Tourists are welcome to jump — but at their own risk. You can seriously injure yourself if you're not an experienced diver or swimmer.

The water below is crystalline and tempting. There are lots of spots, both high and low, for diving — or you can use the stairs to get in for just a swim. There are also caves underneath the cliffs that, if you bring your snorkelling or diving gear, you can explore.

Sunset
The lookout from the cafe is breathtaking since the venue is located high above a cliff. It offers an unobstructed view out to the Caribbean Sea. In the evening, the sky turns orange and red as the sun sets into the waves. The place is always packed at this time as people pour in to witness the beautiful Jamaican sunset. But there is plenty of room around the bar, so pick a spot, bring your sunglasses, and be prepared to be amazed.

Food and Drinks
Rick’s Cafe offers a variety of affordable Jamaican and bar food, including jerk chicken and wings. Red Stripe Jamaican beer goes for $4, and Rick's also serves any other drink of your choice. Rick's offers bar seating at two levels. No matter what fare you choose, it's going to be delicious and you won’t go hungry.

Music and Pool

The main stage is in front of the bar, where reggae bands play live music. They always have upbeat Jamaican beats playing — even when the band steps offstage. You can dance to the island music or cool off in the pool. At Rick's Cafe, the party never ends. Be sure to check out this hot spot next time you're in Jamaica!
