Get The Look: Aishwarya Rai At Cannes 2014

Aishwarya Rai brought her beauty on owning the red carpet at the ‘Deux Jours Une Nuit’ premiere Tuesday, May 20, at Cannes. Here’s how you can get the look.

Aishwarya Rai has perfect skin and to get a dramatic look like hers with smoky eyes and red lips, you need to start with a flawless complexion.

Face Atelier Ultra Foundation/ faceatelier

Face Atelier Ultra Foundation is my go-to for flawless skin. I love that it has primer built right in as well as silicone that keeps makeup put. The result is flawless, glowing skin. Apply foundation by blending in circular, upward strokes – I swear by Cover FX’s Liquid Foundation Brush.

Cover FX Cream Concealer/ coverfx

Dot concealer – in the same shade as foundation – under eyes and on any blemishes. Blend concealer under the eyes. Smooth out imperfections with a concealer brush around edges, taking care not to smudge it off.

Bronzing Pressed Powder/ lauramercier

Set the makeup with a powder. Bronzing Pressed Powder by Laura Mercier adds a glorious radiance.

M.A.C Smut Eye Shadow/ maccosmetics

Brows should be filled in to match your current hair colour with a dampened eyeliner brush – I like to use eye shadow in sweeping little strokes that look like hairs to blend in. If you have black hair, use a dark brown eye shadow or else it appears harsh. Use a brow brush or mascara wand to blend well. You can style brows by setting with hairspray or clear mascara.

The gorgeous smoky eye can be achieved easily with Smut Eye Shadow by M.A.C Cosmetics. Apply the eye shadow by using a small eye shadow brush and blend upwards like a facelift. Make sure that the eye shadow does not go above the eyelid. Blend again until everything is symmetrical.

Best Tip: Apply a little baby powder to the under eyes before eye shadow application. Leave for a few minutes afterwards. The remnants of the eye shadow will fall into the powder and can easily be wiped of to maintain the perfect complexion.

Liquid Eyeliner/ elizabetharden

For added drama, apply a liner to the tarsal plate – the inner bottom part of the eye as well as the inner top part of the eye. It really makes eyes pop. I love the Liquid Eyeliner by Elizabeth Arden. It can be applied to create a defined line as well as a smoked-out edge with the smudge tip on the other end.

Nars Blush in Orgasm/ sephora

Aishwarya Rai has gorgeous cheekbones that are easily emphasized by adding a pinch of blush. My fave is Nars Blush – the shade Orgasm works perfect for this look. Apply to apples of cheeks in a circular up-sweeping motion.

L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Lip Liner in Always Red/ shopify

To finish off the look, red sultry lips need a lip liner first. Lip liner is great for giving the illusion of bigger lips or creating perfect symmetry. It also adds staying power to lipstick when applied to the whole lip.
