With Fall just around the corner, our minds wander to pumpkin picking, hot apple cider, and watching the summer leaves change from bright greens to deep tones of orange, yellow, and red.
Pantone kicked off this past summer by getting ready for fall, releasing their new 'Fall Colour Trend Report', featuring colours they’ve selected to provide a warm, vibrant, and vivid backdrop against the upcoming colder months.
These colours were chosen from leaders in the fashion world but that shouldn’t hold you back from incorporating them into your own wedding palette.
Although there are 10 colours, I’ve narrowed it down to my favourite 5.
What I love the most about these colours is that they are rich hues that work incredibly well together. If you’re having a traditional wedding, there are always ways of adding these colours into your wedding, in your decor, your bridesmaids’ outfits, and so much more.
Acai:
According to Pantone, “Exotic acai adds mystery and richness to the palette.”
I couldn’t agree more. Purple has historically been known as a color for noble royalty, and this elegant hue pairs beautifully with yellows, oranges and pinks. Experiment with complimentary colours to make this richly royal shade truly stand out.

Samba:
Incorporate a vivid red sparingly for “an expressive and dramatic look,” as it packs a powerful punch as you create your wedding day color palette.
I love when brides add accents of this shade, like in this gorgeous bouquet. Not only does it deepen the complete presentation, but it also conveys autumnal feelings of warmth and richness.
Mykonos Blue:
An out of the box color that I normally wouldn’t associate with Fall, this “bold meditative blue” easily creates a “classic and relaxed fall look,” according to Pantone.
I love how some brides are ahead of the trend by combining it with Pantone’s other shades of Koi (see below) and Vivacious.
With all the rich colours that make up most fall colour palettes, adding a peaceful blue can soothe the atmosphere while still keeping it fun and festive.
Vivacious:
A color that truly lives up to its name, this “unruly and wildly deep fuchsia adds an ebullient sensuality to the palette.”
This passionate fuchsia colour is a gorgeous combination of purple and pink, and exudes a gorgeous combination of sensuality, confidence, maturity, and love.
Use it as a bold statement for your center pieces or decor. Pair this vivid shade with Pantone’s acai, and you’ll have a wedding color palette fit for royalty.
Koi:
“More than a shade of autumnal orange, this decorative shade “is a statement color that serves as a pick-me-up.” This is my absolute favourite color this season, as it reminds me of Heirloom pumpkins, vibrant Autumn foliage, and warm cozy fires.
Orange can play the dominant role in your wedding palette, leaving you room to play with the fuchsias, reds, and purples.
Mixing and matching different shades of orange can bring a dynamically festive punch that also instantly creates a rustic and homey feel.
