Hi Friends!
In this week’s episode, Raj continues the ‘Women Who Empower’ series, with another special episode dedicated to diverse perspectives on the importance of representation.
This week, she tackles ‘South Asian Women In Mainstream Media’ and deep dives in a candid conversation with 5 of the most powerful South Asian female voices in North American mainstream media, who come together for the first time on one show.
They share their individual stories on how they entered the media business, why, and what challenges they dealt with along the way. They talk about their perspectives on representation, pop culture, and their connection with each other (with some laughs and goosebumps along the way) ending with some advice for those looking to enter a non-traditional career path. Here they are (in no particular order):
ET Canada‘s Sangita Patel
CP24 Breakfast‘s Pooja Handa
Global News‘ Farah Nasser
ANOKHI LIFE’s Hina P. Ansari
And the one who started it all as the first South Asian female on mainstream North American television with her own show (5 to be exact) – Monika Deol
