What you need:
– Glass vase (Dollarama has a great selection of vases under $3.)
– Fine-tip paintbrush (This set from Michaels is one of our favourites.)
– Multi-surface acrylic paint (The Craft Smart Premium Satin Acrylic Paint from Michaels is great.)
– If you are using only one paintbrush, have a bowl of water available to clean your brush between colours.
– Newspaper to cover your workstation.
DIY Method:
1. Gather your materials.

2. On a section of the newspaper, squirt out a small amount of each paint colour.
3. Dip your paintbrush in the first colour and begin painting small dots sporadically over the vase. You can cover the entire vase in polka dots, or a portion of the vase.

4. Change or clean your brush, and begin with the next colour. Continue until all the colours have been used. You can add more polka dots depending on your preference.
5. Leave to dry for a few hours.
6. Fill the vase with flowers.

3. Sprinkle the glitter inside the vase over the Mod Podge and swirl around until the vase is filled with glitter. You can choose to keep the glitter semi-transparent by using less.
4. If you want to add to the design of the vase, apply painters tape along the top of the vase and paint above that area. To create a fringe effect, use upwards strokes when painting, covering a portion of the tape. Peel the tape off before the paint is completely dry.

5. Fill with flowers, sea shells or leave as is.

What you need:

– Raffia
DIY Method:

2. Heat up glue gun and apply glue over 2-inch sections (The glue will dry if you try applying it over the entire vase first.)
3. As soon as the glue has been applied, cover the area with bamboo sticks. They don't have to be perfectly even, as uneven leveling can create a more natural, earthy look.
4. Continue working your way around the vase in sections until it is completely covered.
5. Take a few strands of raffia and tie around the bottom of the vase.
6. Add flowers, greenery or leave as is (Mom's garden is always a good place to grab some greenery.)
Happy decorating!
