Shake up your salmon cuisine with these cool cakes.
Salmon is one fish which is packed with flavour and essential nutrients. Wild salmon is loaded with protein and the two blockbuster omega-3s — DHA and EPA — that make us happy, smart and pain-free. Salmon is also an excellent source of vitamin D and it helps to increase your cardiovascular health. Since the body can’t make omega-3 fatty acids, the best way to obtain them is through the food we eat. Here is a delicious yet easy salmon recipe you will absolutely love.
Delicious salmon cakes.

Ingredients
2 salmon fillets, cooked and flaked (I use wild salmon)
2 teaspoons curry powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
3 green onions, finely chopped
1 teaspoon red chili flakes (optional)
1/4 to 1/2 cup of bread crumbs
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1/2 red bell pepper, seeded and chopped
Handful of cilantro, finely chopped
Juice of 1 lemon
Extra virgin olive oil, for frying the cakes
Method
1. Place the salmon in foil and close all sides of the foil so the steam cannot escape. (Note that you loosely pack the salmon so that the steam can go all around the salmon). Bake for 10 to 12 mins at 350 degrees celcius.
2. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl except for the oil.
3. Grab a baseball size mixture and form into patties. Note: If the mixture is too soft and doesn’t form a patty then you should add more bread crumbs.
4. Once all the patties are formed, cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge for about 15 minutes.
5. Heat about a 1/4 cup of oil over medium heat. Once the oil is hot fry the patties until golden, about 3 to 4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
Enjoy with a side garden salad.
