The Sixth Asian Awards 2016 celebrated and honoured Asians across the world at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Friday, April 8, 2016.
The awards honour excellence and talent from the arts to business, politics to technology, and public service to sports.

Mother Teresa, Kunal Nayyar, Naughty Boy and Osman Yousefzada were honoured at The Asian Awards for their contributions and achievements to the Asian community. The Founder Award went to Mother Teresa for her charity work for 45 years for the sick and poor in Kolkata. Agi Bojaxhui, Mother Teresa’s closest living relative, came from Italy to receive the award.

Kunal Nayyar was honoured with Outstanding Achievement in Television Award. He loves “playing Raj” in The Big Bang Theory. After season 10 of the show, you can see him in The Spoils.

Naughty Boy landed himself the 13th award of his career, this time for Excellence in Music. Naughty Boy further had the honour of receiving the award from his idol, Emeli Sande. He said, “It started with Emeli and probably will end with Emeli.”

The Outstanding Achievement in the Arts award went to Osman Yousefzada. He has honoured for his work, which has even been worn by Beyoncé — his favourite celebrity to dress. He has also dressed Bollywood actresses like Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor Khan. The inspiration for his work is “strong women.”

The awards also had a surprise visit from Lindsay Lohan along with stars from reality TV and British Asians in the entertainment industry. It was a night full of achievements and the celebration of all the hard work behind those accomplishments.
