Behind The Scenes Of My Schwarzkopf Makeover

I was invited by Schwarzkopf to learn about some of their new products while getting a little makeover. The brand was releasing a collection of lower-priced, drugstore products and I was invited to give them a try. To my surprise, the person making me over was Natalia Zurawska, a fellow ANOKHI family member. She glammed me up, tamed my curls and made me feel absolutely fabulous.

Let’s start with my “before” look:

Knowing that I was getting done up, I didn’t do anything with my second-day hair. I threw some de-frizz product in, and left it to do what it pleased.

On my face, I wore MAC’s cushion foundation, Matchmaster Shade Intelligence Compact in the shade 5 ($44 CDN). This product gives sheer, buildable coverage and sets in like a second skin. I hid my dark undereye circles with the help of Make Up For Ever’s Ultra HD Concealer ($32 CDN). I use a combination of two shades (R40 and Y41). The first has a red tone to eliminate darkness and the second has yellow tones to help brighten.

I’ve been feeling a bit pale this winter, so I gave myself a bit of colour with Dior’s Diorblush Sculpt Professional Contouring Powder Blush in 003 Beige Contour ($54 CDN). The colour is quite subtle and gives a nice, natural-looking contour. I used the darker shade on my cheeks, temples and jawline, and the highlight on my forehead, cheekbones and chin.

I finished off with a dab of Lise Watier’s Blush Fondant Supreme in Sand ($30 CDN).

I wanted to keep my eyes quite natural, so I used a combination of matte shades from Maybelline’s The Nudes eyeshadow palette ($12.96 CDN). I then added a couple of coats of Maybelline’s Lash Sensational mascara ($6.96 CDN) on my lashes.

Lastly, I continued the nude, natural look on my lips with Make Up For Ever’s Pro Sculpting Lip in Rosewood ($32 CDN). This two-in one has a matte colour on one end and a highlight on the other to make your lips look fuller.

My "after" look, as told by Natalia:

I was lucky enough to be one of the stylists for the new launch and Rosemina was my client. I sprayed her hair with the Ultime Crystal Shine & Hold Heat Protection Shine Spray ($6.97 CDN) and decided to use the Conair Infiniti Pro Curl Secret Curling Iron ($98.96 CDN) to enhance her already gorgeous curls on level 8 on heat setting #2. I finished her hair by using the Schwarzkopf Styliste Ultime Crystal Shine & Hold Hairspray ($6.97 CDN).

For makeup, I enhanced Rosemina’s look by applying MAC’s Plum Foolery blush ($26 CDN) onto the apples of her cheeks. I filled in her brows with Benefit’s Gimme Brow Volumizing Fibre Gel in Medium/Deep ($30 CDN).

I used Mac’s Eyeshadow in Brun ($19 CDN) on the other ends of her eyes to add some contrast and Mac’s Eyeshadow in Shroom ($19 CDN) on the brow bone.

I applied false eyelashes #802 by Quo ($7.65 CDN) as close to her eye line as possible. I curled her natural lashes along with the falsies. This step helps adhere lashes together to prevent the “double lash.” I finished her eyes off with a double coat of 24-Hour LashBlast Mascara by Covergirl.

For lips, I lined Rosemina’s lips with Cutie Pink 07 Lip Liner by Essence to complement her gorgeous skin tone and used Nymphette Lipglass by M.A.C. ($19 CDN) to add shine.

I get Rosemina to flip her head over one last time and finger tousle her curls and spray with hairspray one more time. I always say, “hair is like cookies; it needs a few minutes to settle into its own."
