The Perfect New Skin Care Collection For Spring
This winter has been brutally cold, and I’ve noticed that it’s taken quite a toll on my skin. I’m always open to trying new products, and with spring (hopefully) around the corner, I’ve been on the lookout for something that can help revive my winter-worn skin.
I recently came across the new Mango Seed line by THEFACESHOP, which was supposedly designed specially to treat dull, dry skin. For starters, whether it’s freshly sliced on a plate or pickled in a jar, we Indians love our mangos. So, naturally, I was immediately drawn to this line — mangoes are delicious and good for your skin?
It turns out that each of the products in the line contains the extract of mango seeds, which have been touted for their ability to survive up to 300 years in extremely hot, desert-like climates. Plus, on top of being delicious, mangoes are loaded with a ton of vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A and C.
Overall, the collection of skin care products fares pretty well against other popular brands. I especially like the scents; the products in the THEFACESHOP Mango Seed line smell fresh and fruity (perfect for spring) without being too strong or sweet.
Mango Seed Glow Date-Prep Butter
This is the newest product in the collection and it works to prep skin for spring by providing the ultimate hydration. The first thing I noticed about the cream was how silky it looked. When I tried it on my own skin, I found that it really did absorb quickly and left my skin feeling pretty soft. I especially liked that it didn’t leave a sticky or oily residue.
Mango Seed Oil to Foam Cleanser
This cleanser is unique because it looks like oil when it comes out of the bottle but it turns into more of a foam when you start massaging it into your skin. The foaming is nice because it feels like it really does work better to remove makeup, clear pores and cleanse the surface of the skin. But because it starts off as oil, it doesn’t leave your skin feeling dry or tight like a lot of other cleansers do.
Mango Seed Silk Moisturizing Toner
A lot of toners I’ve tried either dry my skin out, which is the last thing my skin needs right now, or they just don’t seem to make much of a difference. Needless to say, I was intrigued (and impressed) by the idea of a “moisturizing toner.” This particular THEFACESHOP product contains mango seed extract but also almond milk. The toner is said to work in two phases: softening the surface of the skin while providing moisture deep below the surface.
Mango Seed Lip & Eye Makeup Remover
I generally prefer longer-lasting lip stains, and I usually save my brightest colours for spring. An eye makeup remover isn’t necessarily unique, but this particular product is designed to remove lip makeup as well, which you don’t see very much. The serum-like formula also feels really soothing.
The line is available in stores now. Recognized as one of the fastest-growing global brands, THEFACESHOP has more than 2,600 stores in 29 countries worldwide.
