Does spring remind you of pastels? Well brace yourselves as this year the looks are much more bold and bright, or completely au naturel. Here are some great tips and how to achieve them in minutes.

Skin Regime:

Dewy skin is in and nothing looks more fresh and healthy looking. To get the look start by cleansing your face. I love Facial Cleanser by Mèreadesso

. It truly is perfect for every skin type and contains ingredients such as Aloe Leaf Juice to help soothe and clean.

Next apply a moisturizer. I really like the Total Effects Daily Moisturizer by Olay. It contains 7 anti-aging benefits in 1 formula.

Makeup Regime:

To emphasize beautiful skin use Smashbox’s Photo Finish Hydrating Foundation Primer. This product is perfect for combination/oily skin as it is oil free, however contains Hydraplex which is a desert plant extract to hydrate and seal in moisture.

Laura Mercier’s Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer Bare Radiance with SPF 20 is my favorite makeup for achieving this look.

I love the colour selection, exceptional in finding the right undertone for South Asian skin. A little goes a long way too. Apply with fingers or a foundation brush and make sure to blend into the neck, ears and hairline.

Best Tip: Add a little to the collarbone if it is showing, and cleavage for a uniform look.

Spot correcting with a little concealer comes last as I find if you apply concealer first, it may get blended away with the foundation.

Best Tip: To apply, use the warmth of your fingers or a concealer brush.

Only apply to the imperfection and blend edges outward without wiping coverage away.

Cover FX is my go to for concealer as it provides excellent coverage and comes in so many shades.

LIPS:

Orange lips are not only hot, but bright and bold colours look fantastic on darker skin tones. Elizabeth Arden has come out with some amazing lipsticks to suit any taste. The oh so elegant gold packaging with the moisturizing bold lipstick colours are fabulous.

Best Tip: When applying bold lipstick colours, use a lip brush for exact precision.

EYES:

When wearing a bold lip colour, keep the eyes more muted. Eyes are always a huge focus when it comes to makeup. This spring, bold blues, greens and purples are all the rage. Apply to the inner corners as an accent, use a bright eyeliner for a day time look or apply darker variations of shades for a night on the town.

I love the Quad Palettes by Clinique. With blues named “Galaxy”, “On Safari “for greens – these long lasting eye shadows are sure to be a hit.

HAIR:

Hair this spring is very natural and care free. Low slung pony tails are back and so are braids. Don’t worry about the style being perfect, wisps are gorgeous as is a bit of tousle.

Best Tip: Adding a little clip adds a lot of charm as well as hides the elastic.

Finish by spraying with a light spray such as Tres Two Ultra Fine Mist Hairspray by Tresemme.
