Mariah Carey Rings In Christmas At Hudson Bay And Saks 5th Avenue

Hudson Bay and Saks Fifth Avenue brings iconic singer to Toronto for a very special evening!

The most wonderful time of the year is drawing very near! One sure sign of the season’s start in Toronto is the traditional unveiling of Hudson’s Bay’s famous holiday windows.

Every year, the legendary department store creates enchanting window displays that represent different aspects of the holiday season. With their intricate detail and craftsmanship, the displays have become so popular that they’re a tourist attraction in their own right!

And this year, Hudson’s Bay took it up a few notches, collaborating with Saks Fifth Avenue for the first time ever to put on a fantastic show. Music legend Mariah Carey attended, performing for an enthralled audience. Despite the cooler temps, hundreds of onlookers gathered at the joint entrance of the two stores. The crowd watched the singer belt out two songs, giving them all they wanted for Christmas!

After the performance, the star helped unveil the stunning holiday windows along with HBC Governor and Executive Chairman Richard Baker, HBC CEO Jerry Storch, Hudson’s Bay President Liz Rodbell and Saks Fifth Avenue President Marc Metrick.

The Hudson’s Bay displays this year invite customers into an “Enchanted Forest” with scenes of a gorgeous winter wonderland. Five different animated scenes feature hand-sculpted animals, including ice skating bunnies and snowshoeing geese!

Saks Fifth Avenue, on the other hand, is all about decadent indulgence in the “Land of 1000 Delights.” Each of the scenes is set in fantasy music boxes with twirling mannequins dressed in confectionery clothing.

After perusing the windows and the festivities outdoors, guests were invited to visit Hudson’s Bay and Saks Fifth Avenue. Inside, they got to indulge in some early holiday shopping and interactive activities. A DJ kept the crowds moving while fun photo booths and a copious amount of holiday treats got everyone into the festive spirit.

Looks like the holiday season is off to a great start!
