Donald Trump Wins 2016 United States Presidential Election
America has spoken. Donald J. Trump is the next president.
Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in what is considered one of the most shocking U.S. elections in modern political history.
“I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be president for all Americans,” Trump said in his victory speech. “For those who have chosen not to support me in the past, of which there were a few people, I’m reaching out to you for your guidance and your help so we can work together and unify our great country.”
Trump has promised that as president he will honour the pledge on his famous baseball caps: Make America Great Again.
The nail-biter election had millions of Americans and people across the globe at the edge of their seats, anticipating final votes that would determine the future of America.
Trump’s traditional Republican strongholds and victories in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Florida, and Ohio was fuel for the reality television star to clinch his victory.
After being declared the 45th president of the United States, Trump received a call from Clinton who conceded the race.
“Hillary has worked very long and very hard over a long period of time, and we owe her a major debt of gratitude for her service to our country,” Trump said. “I mean that very sincerely.”
To gain votes from Indian-Americans, Trump took a hint from PM Narendra Modi’s catchy slogan “Ab Ki Baar, Modi Ki Sarkaar” from the 2014 general elections.

Trump’s seen in the TV ad saying, “Ab Ki Baar Trump Sarkaar”. This was the first time a US presidential candidate specifically targeted the Indian-American voting pool.
So what could one expect from a Trump presidency?
The newest president has promised to “build a wall” along the border with Mexico, repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, renegotiate NAFTA, and suspend the Syrian refugee resettlement program.
Conventional wisdom said Donald Trump would never get to the White House; but his triumphant win speaks for itself.
Much like his presidential campaign, Trump asks supporters to trust him and that they will “win so big” they will be “sick of winning.”
