Priyanka Chopra was a fresh-faced beauty while attending Equality Now’s Make Equality Reality.
Held at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills, the Bollywood sweetheart balanced her sexy plunging black tuxedo jacket with natural colours and a pink pout.
Step 1
Start off with a light, oil-free tinted moisturizer to even out your skin tone. Try Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream with SPF 35, $50 CDN.
Step 2
To achieve Chopra’s fresh-faced look, use a light pink blush on the apples of your cheeks. Draper suggests a two-step process, starting with a cream blush like Bobbi Brown’s Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks in Pale Pink, $32 CDN. Finish off with Laura Mercier’s Second Skin Cheek Colour in Lotus Pink, $30 CDN. The combination of cream and powder will give you long-lasting wear.
Step 3
For the eyes, Draper suggests sticking to “natural, earthy colours.” Sweep a matte brown shade like Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow in Naked, $22 CDN, in the crease of your lid using a pony tail brush. Draper advises using a matte black cream liner “along lashes and smudge upwards to create this smoky, sexy effect.” Try Laura Mercier’s Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Tuxedo, $34 CDN. Top it off with a black, volumizing mascara.
Step 4
Complete the look with a creamy pink lip colour. Revlon’s Ultra HD Lipstick in Peony, $11.49 CDN, will give you kissably soft lips.
Mindy Kaling looked elegant yet sultry while being honoured at the 2014 Glamour Women of the Year Awards at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Wearing a powder blue dress with a bit of sparkle, Kaling’s makeup focused on smoky, glamorous eyes.
Step 1
Prep your face with an oil-free primer to keep your skin refreshed and to extend the wear of your foundation. Try Philosophy’s The Present Invisible Skin Perfector & Oil-Free Makeup Primer, $36 CDN. Use a light foundation that is fit for extended wear. Draper suggests Laura Mercier’s Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide Foundation, $59 CDN, for “beautiful coverage without feeling heavy.”
Step 2
Kaling’s look is all about the dramatic, smoky eye. “Sweep a neutral colour eyeshadow in the crease using a pony tail brush for an airbrushed effect,” Draper advises. “Then pat a navy blue shadow on lids up to the crease and under the eyes. Use a smudge brush to push the pigment into the lower lashes. Then use a light blue shadow on the inner corners.” Try Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow in I-220, $24 CDN, and finish off with Maybelline ExpertWear Eyeshadow in Blue Blazes, $4.99 CDN. No smoky eye is complete without a great mascara that both lengthens and volumizes, like Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Mascara, $29 CDN.
Step 3
Line the eyes using a cream liner and a flat brush for a crisp look. Try Laura Mercier’s Tightline Cake Eye Liner in Black Ebony, $31 CDN.
Step 4
On the apples of the cheeks, use a cream blush like Gosh’s Giant Blush in Shy, $18 CDN. Draper suggests setting the look with a translucent loose powder.
Step 5
Top the look off with a smooth, creamy neutral lip colour, like M.A.C’s Lipstick in Cosmo, $19 CDN.
