HONG KONG, CHINA
From July 7 to 10, Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2015 took place at the Convention and Exhibition Center. The event featured about 250 exhibitors from 19 countries and attracted nearly 17,000 buyers from 71 countries and regions. In keeping with the theme, Cruise Sensation, about 40 events took place in a specially created relaxing-summer-holidays environment. Event highlights included fashion parades from established and new designers, seminars, forums and demo sessions. The fashion week opened with Fashionally Collection #3 featuring 11 runway collections from past winners and finalists of the Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers’ Contest that included names like Chloe Sung and Mountain Yam. The highlight of the event was the display of Asian brands Ika Butoni, Clara Tan and ZeevanCo by Meggie who showcased their upcoming Spring/Summer styles. While Clara Tan’s collection included lightweight, pastelcoloured women’s wear, Ika Butoni’s collection included bright colours and interesting patterns. ZeevanCo by Meggie, by designer Meggie Hadiyanto, brought energy to the stage with evening dresses in pastel colours. International cosmetics brand Nars held a Runway to Realway presentation that unveiled the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Nars Nail Collection.
