All Round Beautiful!

Spring is one of my favourite seasons because the energy in the world shifts to embrace the bloom of life. I love the fact that we get to shed the extra layers that the winter breeze demands and dust off our cottons and strappys. But most of all, I revel in breathing in the dewy scent of fresh flowers and the thaw of the woodlands. It’s these simple pleasures that remind me of how wonderful our natural world really is.

Yet the beauty of nature is far more than what’s around us; it’s also the multi layered, multi faceted aspects within each of us that make the nature of who we are as individuals, a truly beautiful notion. In light of this, we decided to dedicate this issue of ANOKHI to exploring and determining what we believe is deemed beautiful in our world today, with the launch of our first ever Beauty Issue packed with editorial takeaways. Check out what these are on page 8 where our Editor-In-Chief highlights some of them.

This issue’s cover story also centres around the theme of beauty in a conversation I had with a woman I believe to be the epitome of modern beauty – business woman, humanitarian, wife and mother – international model and actress, Saira Mohan. Its been five years since she first graced our cover so check out my Open Chest(tm) on page 62 where she reveals her take on beauty and what she’s been up to these past few years.

Something ANOKHI…

With the world economy putting a downer on our lives right now, we at ANOKHI, being the eternal optimists that we are, believe that at times like these, it’s the positive things in our lives that will anchor us through the current climate. So we have decided to celebrate the goodness and accomplishments that exist in our lives and we are excited about sharing them with you!

We just celebrated the 6th Anniversary of ANOKHI Magazine with a stellar event in Toronto on February 6th and what a night it was. Packed with celebrities from Canada, the US, the UK & India which included special guests, Slumdog Millionaire's, Freida Pinto, UK's musical sensation, Swami, India's celebrity fashion designer duo, Prriya & Chintan, Canadian singer-songwriter, Zameer and many, many more. The night was filled with an electrifying energy surrounding our signature Sexy & Successful Awards of which ten were presented to South Asians from across the world and across a plethora of industries who exemplify the true greatness of our global culture. There were also dynamic live musical performances, a spectacular fashion runway show and a killer after party!
