SINGAPORE
Art Stage Singapore, the flagship Asian art event, celebrated its fourth edition from January 15 to 19. Attracting 46,000 visitors, the contemporary art fair featured about 160 exhibitors from around the globe. Leading curators from Southeast Asia, Australia, Central Asia, China, India, Japan, Korea and Taiwan received critical acclaim from collectors, artists, art professionals and general fair visitors. Entry level works of emerging artists were in great demand. Notable art works, artists and platforms (curated sales exhibitions) included 100 Surnames in Tofu by Chen Qiulin at the China Platform, Controlled Desire by Bounpaul Phothyzan at M Gallery, Goldrush by Dolk at Galleri S.E., Love Me by Choi Jeong Hwa at Galerie Vanessa Quang, Milky Way by Manit Kantasak at Whitespace Gallery Bangkok, Nothing to Wait For by Chun Kai Feng at FOST Gallery, Puppy Love by Dolk at Galleri S.E., Raining Bed by FX Harsono at ARNDT Gallery, Space BM by Seunghyo Jang at Korean gallery, The Drawing Room by Mark Justiniani at Southeast Asia Platform, Tina Keng Gallery at the Taiwan Platform, Tunnel by Mark Justiniani at Southeast Asia Platform, Anurendra Jegadeva at Southeast Asia Platform and Entrance Arch: The Continuous Gate by Joko Dwi Avianto. Platforms by artists from India and China garnered a lot of interest from the audience.
