Multi-functional furniture is usually the best way to decorate small spaces. Here are our tips on how to keep your space clean and chic.
There is definitely a growing trend toward living in smaller spaces; financial freedom, less expenses, less debt, less cleaning, and for many, leaving a smaller carbon footprint. So it's no surprise that with this trend comes a rise in condo living. However, when moving into a smaller space it can be challenging to keep it stylish and chic while keeping it functional and with minimal clutter. Though there is no fixed formula when it comes to designing small spaces or “saving space” Dala Décor offers a few keys to attain successful usage of your space. Embedding multi-functional furniture in a multi purpose space is one trick.
Start with the biggest or most used area, such as the kitchen or dining area. That’s where you spend most of your time, whether you are eating, working or entertaining. Being successful means earning your keep and holding value in your floor space.
A pivotal piece of furniture that will allow you to do all of these is an adjustable dining table. It quickly changes your dining area to a work area, or a bar for entertainment. Maintain that functionality with adjustable stools that quickly adjust from dining height to bar stool height and you've transformed your room and the ambiance in a matter of seconds.

A storage bench is a great piece for a cozy space. They maximize seating options and act as an extra table or storage, making them essential to your intimate living space. Storage benches can be beneficial in any room. In your foyer, it serves as convenient seating, while storing a shoe scrubber, hats and gloves.
Use a storage bench in a bedroom to store bedding, pillows or toys and then move it into the living area when guests arrive for extra seating. Storage benches can also be used as a filing cabinet or in your living room as your coffee table.

Finally, there is no better accessory to a small space then a well-planned mirror. While mirrors don't add space, the value of a mirror should not be underestimated. Mirrors can be used to solve many design dilemmas. Large floor-length mirrors behind tight spaces give the furniture in front of the mirror a more extended feel. Your foyer or over your entry console are perfect spots for a mirror. Not only do you get the once over before you leave but the mirror will give this area a grander feel. The secret is to place a mirror under or behind a light source. This will maximize the lights reach giving you that enchanted ambiance. One of our favourites is placing a mirror directly across from a window. This will give you light and depth from all angles giving your space that open and fresh feeling. For Dala Décor, it's not just about using a mirror but using a mirror that will add character and art to your room.
