Sunny Leone Gracefully Shuts Down “Slut-Shaming” Interview Like A True Heroine
Entertainment Jan 21, 2016
Notorious for her racy past, Sunny Leone has come a long way since her days as a porn star. Her most recent interview however, brought up distasteful negativity and has since gone viral overnight, bringing all of Bollywood into the debate.
Move over trolls! The 34-year-old, Indo-Canadian actress not only owned the Internet yesterday, but she owned the entire Bollywood world after gracefully responding to the disastrous CNN interview with nothing but poise.
With what started off as a normal interview any actress would be asked to do, the 30-minute CNN interview literally put Leone in the hot seat, as she was practically slut-shamed by veteran TV news anchor, Bhupendra Chubey.
The original interview first aired on January 15 to promote Leone's upcoming adult comedy film Mastizaade, but as the interview went on, Chaubey hardly mentioned her role in the new film, rather focusing entirely on her previous career in the adult film industry.
The journalist continued to interrogate the actress about her past and even found it difficult to utter the word "porn," questioning Leone on whether or not she believes her previous career is something that will haunt her current acting career in Bollywood.
Admirably, Leone remained completely calm and full of elegance throughout the excruciating 30 minutes of cringe-worthy questions, allowing her true graceful beauty to shine through.
Leone has always been unapologetic about her porn star career and respectully commented by saying, "Everything that I have done in my life has led me to this seat. Everything is a stepping stone."
Not long afterwards, many Bollywood stars took to their social media accounts to voice their opinion on the interview and how they feel about Leone's past.
During the interview, Chaubey asked Leone whether or not she thinks Aamir Khan would ever work with her and she responded with "Probably not, because of my background."
Aamir Khan put all the negativity aside and responded in the most heartwarming way ever via his Twitter, saying he would be happy to work with the actress.
Leone continued to recieve an outpouring of social media messages from her fellow Bollywood stars all over the world, expressing their support for the star. From Alia Bhatt to Arjun Kapoor, everyone in Bollywood had this brave girl's back!
Leone has definitely made us fans very proud and needs to take a bow for handling a misogynist interview with such admirable poise.
