Coldplay Teases Indian Fans With Secret Video Shoot
It’s safe to say that Coldplay is one of the biggest acts to come out of the U.K. for the millennial generation.
It’s no surprise then, that if they show up somewhere, it’s a bit of a challenge to keep it hush hush. But nonetheless, the band has been trying to keep a low profile while filming their latest music video in Mumbai, India.

They haven’t been very successful at it though, as photos started circulating on social media almost immediately. Pictures of lead singer Chris Martin and the band surrounded by children and splattered in Holi colours caused a huge stir among Indian fans, given that Coldplay has never performed in India.
Earlier this year however, Chris Martin made a surprise appearance at a Delhi bar and played an impromptu set. Indian YouTube mega stars All India Bakchod (AIB) introduced him on stage and the photo that followed also led to much fan frenzy. Further, as the AIB gang was loosely connected to the first secret visit, the rumour mill went into overdrive with news of a possible collaboration.

Fueled by a series of gag tweets by comedian and friend of AIB, Kanan Gill, fans and media alike took the bait, hook, line and sinker.

Despite the obviously fake and hilarious images on Twitter, the members of AIB were inundated with phone calls from local journalists trying to get the scoop.

Even with repeated clarifications to the contrary, including a video by AIB member Rohan Joshi featuring Kanan Gill, the trolling prank created almost as much buzz as Coldplay’s secret video shoot itself.

In the meantime, Mid-Day reports that the band will be shooting in different parts of Mumbai and the upcoming video will have something special for Indian fans. And who knows, perhaps fans in the sub-continent will finally get their wish granted for a long overdue Coldplay concert.
