Red Carpet Trends At The Golden Globes

Like many other fashion addicts, I tuned in to the live coverage of the 72nd Golden Globes' red carpet sunday evening to catch the big fashion moments and trends of the night. Here's what I found.

White Cut-Outs

L–R: Rosamund Pike/Vera Wang, Emily Blunt/Micheal Kors, Kate Hudson/Versace

Newcomer to the Golden Globes Gone Girl's Rosamund Pike bravely took to the red carpet in a revealing Vera Wang gown five weeks after giving birth. Emily Blunt — adorable in braids — wore a custom Michael Kors criss-cross number. The sizzling bod of the night, Kate Hudson made her boob-ilicious appearance in a form-fitting Versace.

Sari Style

L–R: Amal Clooney/Dior, Amy Adams/Versace, Nancy O'Dell/Cerulean Gown

Be it the body-hugging pleats on Amy Adams, the flowing sash over the shoulder of Amal Clooney or the asymmetrical dupatta look of Nancy O'Dell, sari style was definitely in full swing.

Sparkle

Thigh-high slits, metallic shine and a dose of feathers made these ensembles glisten.

Hands down the "knockout of the night" was Jennifer Lopez, who captivated everyone with her sultry look, dressed in a Zuhair Murad cape dress. Julianne Moore made a dramatic entrance in feathers, and another newcomer to the red carpet, Dakota Johnson from the anticipated 50 Shades Of Grey, captivated in silver sequins.

From the carpet itself to the gowns worn, the main hue of the night — blood red — made its presence well known. Some of my faves included Allison Williams sporting pretty ruffles, Heidi Klum in a predictable figure-hugging number and quirky gal Lena Dunham with this refreshingly interesting asymmetrical hemline.
