Fall Time Cocktails
Warm Up This Month With Favourite Seasonal Sippers
It's hard to escape the winter without having a sip of something strong to keep the cold at bay. To help you get your toes toasty, we've listed a few cocktail recipes from master mixologists at Campari.
Rosa Bianca
– 2 parts (1 oz) Campari
– 2 parts (1 oz) Rose Liqueur
– 3 parts (1 1/2 oz) orange juice
-3/4 drop star anise
Once you've shaken all the ingredients with ice, serve it in a chilled cocktail glass garnished with a star anise.
Made in Turin in 1931, it has origins from one of the scented liqueurs from the white rose ("rosa bianca" in Italian). The drink was created by members of the Futurist Art movement who would meet and rendezvous, making it one of their official drinks. According to the legend, this drink was created by Angelo Giachino, owner of a restaurant called Taverna del Santopalato renamed Tavern D'Alluminio, a place where controversial future art movements were discussed. The restaurant which became the cornerstone of Gastronomic Renaissance also made this drink popular at the restaurant until it closed later.
Shaken Campari
1 part (2 oz) Campari
As expected, shake well with ice and pour into a chilled cocktail glass.
This one is quick and uncomplicated. One of the best ways of enjoying Campari’s flavor is when it's served chilled according to bartenders.
Created in New York, Campari and the shaker were invented around the same time and so as you can imagine, when used together they create a magical concoction that tantalize taste buds.
Negroni Sbagliato
– 1 part (1 oz) Campari
– 1 part (1 oz) Red Vermouth (Campari recommends Cinzano Rosso)
– 1 part (1 oz) Sparkling wine
Build in a double rock glass with ice and garnish with a slice of orange.
This drink was invented by Mirko Stochetto at Bar Basso in Milan, Italy. While making a drink for a customer one night, Stochetto accidentally grabbed the sparkling wine instead of gin by mistake. After realizing his variation, he named it "sbagliato" or mistaken. The drink has since been popular from the 70s to the 90s, all over Italy.
