Holiday Makeup By Maybelline New York Lead Makeup Artist, Grace Lee

The holiday season is kicking into high gear and that means it’s time to think about your festive look.

ANOKHI MEDIA talked to Grace Lee, Maybelline New York's lead make-up artist, Canada to learn how South Asians can spice up their makeup routine during the holidays.

Here's the look:

1. Apply Maybelline New York Fit Me! Shine Free Foundation Stick liberally on the face as a base. I love this foundation as it has an inner core that naturally sets the foundation and provides a flawless finish. I recommend using two different colours to enhance, highlight and contour the face.

With South Asian women, their tends to be skin tone variations on the face. By using two colours, it will provide more dimension.

2. Cover dark circles with Maybelline New York Instant Age Rewind concealer. Use the darker color to completely cover the dark. Next, use a slightly lighter shade to highlight the eye.

A common beauty blunder for many women is using a concealer that is too light for the skin, resulting in a grey and ashy tone to the under eye. The key is to conceal and highlight.

3. Groom the brows with Maybelline New York EyeStudio Master Shape Brow Pencil. Use small strokes to fill in holes and then use the brush on the opposing end of the product to brush and groom up and the brows.

4. Next, cover the entire lower lid with Maybelline New York EyeStudio Color Tattoo Cream Gel Shadow in Bold Gold.

The Color Tattoo formula is long lasting and has amazing pigment that wears well on all skin tones.

5. Press Breaking Bronze Color Tattoo Pure Pigments on top of the Bold Gold Color Tattoo Cream Gel Shadow to achieve intense shimmer and color. By doing so, you will also highlight the inner corners of the eyes, making them appear bigger and brighter.

6. Line the eye, and the crease of the eye with Maybelline New York Eye Studio Master Smokey Long Wearing Shadow Pencil in Smoldering Violet. I love working with a dark violet on South Asian skin. The golds and deep violets are a winning combination!

Once you have lined the eyes and crease, use the sponge tip applicator on the other end of the pencil and blend. Continue to blend until you naturally create a smoky, diffused effect.

7. Line the eyes with Maybelline New York Master Precise Ink Pen Eyeliner in black. I love this eyeliner as it creates beautiful, precise eyeliner in seconds! A huge bonus for women that love and use eyeliner on an everyday basis. This is also great for someone that is not comfortable with eyeliner as it's so easy to use!

8. Use Maybelline New York Volum’ Express The Colossal Smoky Eyes Mascara on top and bottom lashes. Make sure to get the base of the lash line and wiggle outwards.

9. Use Maybelline New York Color Sensational Color Elixir in Signature Scarlet to top off the perfect holiday look.

This lip lacquer is great because you can make the finish look opaque, with a lot of color, or you can dab the product on your lips for a more sheer payoff.
