The Hyatt Times Square New York is a phenomenal artistic architectural achievement. One just has to look at the hotel's impressive glass exterior to understand why SLCE architects, the makers of the building, are a well-known firm in urban architecture. The hotel’s 54-story mirror-like tower is emblematic of the dramatic atmosphere of the theatre district, which showcases the vibrant and exciting environment of the city.
The Hyatt Times Square New York is Manhattan’s largest Hyatt hotel in 30 years and is slated to open their doors in October 2013. This glamorous 487-room oasis is located at 135 West 45th Street, which is located at the heart of the Big Apple. A tourist’s dream, the hotel is close to the theatre district, Rockefeller Center, Radio Music City Hall, and the 6th Avenue Business district.
The lobby and public spaces have been designed by SPAN architecture. Peter Pelsinski, partner at the SPAN architecture firm said, “The design explores the dichotomy between the serene respite of the hotel and its vibrant urban setting by reinterpreting references from nature in urban forms to create the sense of an urban oasis.”
The hotel will open just in time to display its grandiose, elegant, and enchanting fireplace-decorated Skybar rooftop lounges overlooking the Hudson and the East River. The hotel’s construction is centered on interplay between urban and nature that is reflected in the lobby, rooftop lounge, and outdoor terrace.
Richard Morgan told Hotel Chatter, “Like the quintessential New York star that it is, the hotel will shine with all the sophisticated excitement of the city.”
Upon entering the hotel, the guests will be greeted with intricate walnut and bronze crinkles that are constructed to indicate the concierge and reception. The wave allows for guests to interact with the street, lobby, and adjacent restaurant and bar.
What makes this hotel a must-see for tourists from all around the world is to the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity it offers. Imagine socializing at the rooftop lounge which is surrounded by the glimmering neon lights of Times Square….impressive!
The hotel also has a state-of-the-art fitness center and a 4,200 square-foot spa, which is the only spa in the area. This space is perfect for weddings, business meetings, and other social gatherings. It also has a 2,400 square-feet of private meeting and banquet space especially designed to wow your guests or colleagues should you choose to rent it, which opens up to a 1,400 square-foot outdoor terrace.
The guest rooms and restaurant have been designed with George Wong Design’s expertise with the goal to make guests to feel at home while at the same time, being able to experience the hustle and bustle of New York’s hip and exciting lifestyle.
Upon entering each of the 487 rooms, the guests will feel the vibe of a small apartment with a unique collection of modern and contemporary artwork that is theme around New York City. The hotel’s restaurant is designed as the next trend setter and a haven for social elite, hotel guests, Broadway show-goers, and the area’s posh apartment dwellers to see and to be seen!
This chic 54-storey architectural phenomenon will be the social hub of the entire neighbourhood!
