The Royal Baby’s First Appearance
Baby Cambridge aka the newborn Royal Prince made his first appearance to the world today, Tuesday, July 23rd 2013 roughly 2 15p.m. ET.
The momentous occasion reached fever pitch when the double doors of the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's hospital finally opened to proud parents, Prince William and Duchess Kate.
Cheers came from the world’s media who had been waiting patiently for this very moment along with hospital staff and the general public.
The royal couple all smiles waved as they stood on the steps with the 3rd heir to the royal crown in the Duchess’s arms. The beaming mom wore a Jenny Packham polka dot dress, a flashback 31yrs ago when Princess Diana stood at the very same steps with William also dressed in a polka dot number.
The eager father made his ‘hand-on’ approach to fatherhood known when he picked up his son from Kate’s arms and walked over to the media to introduce his son.
"He's got a good pair of lungs on him, that's for sure," William announced.
Beaming mum Kate stated, "It's very emotional, it's such a special time. I think any parent will know what this feeling feels like." according to dukeandduchessofcambridge.org
William went on to say, "He's got her looks, thankfully".
When questioned about changing nappies (diapers) The Duke said: "We've done that already," and The Duchess agreed saying: "he's done his first nappy already".
After a few statements the royal parents re-entered the hospital to place their son in a car seat ready for their trek to Kensington palace.
As the world watches the new father shift gears naturally into his new role, one can only think of his mother, the late Princess Di and the credit of great modern day parenting. Out emerges William, car seat and baby in hand, walking towards the Range Rover to personally fasten his son into the car securely, driving off, waving and smiling to the crowds.
