Despite a prior live-in relationship, Bollywood actress Kalki Koechlin and director Anurag Kashyap's marriage resulted in separation after just two years. The couple is said to have drifted apart due to their busy lives and were unable to spend enough time with each other. In an interview, Koechlin said that Kashyap's constant stressing over people's comments impacted their relationship. In spite of efforts to work through problems, they eventually divorced. They remain good friends.

Hollywood actor and producer Bradley Cooper and actress and model Jennifer Esposito had a four-month marriage. Cooper did not divulge the inside story to the public, only commenting that they both realized their union wasn't right. Esposito, though, described him as a "master manipulator" with a "mean cold side" in her book Jennifer's Way.

Pakistan's leading tennis player Aisam Ul Haq tied the knot with clinical psychotherapist Faha Makhdoom in 2011. Trouble began to brew between the two shortly after, rooted in issues of insufficient time and conflict of values. Their families denied there was any problem until they parted ways in 2012. It appeared that both had grievances and efforts to develop understanding were not fruitful.
6. Lisa Marie Presley and Nicolas Cage

Instant sparks flew between Hollywood actor and producer Nicolas Cage and singer-songwriter Lisa Marie Presley at a party. The latter called off her engagement with John Oszajca and married Cage, only to realize in four months that it had been a "big mistake." She did not enjoy his probing on her past relationship, nor his instructive and advising nature. Further, they did not share common interests. Theirs was a dramatic and dynamic chemistry and once the good times lapsed, the bickering escalated to the point of no return.
