Bollywood is based in a country full of stigmas and stereotypes, where women are not treated as equal to men. India is a country where having a baby girl is seen as a burden rather than a blessing.
It's hard to challenge these stigmas, but these celebrity women go against the grain and stand up for what's right.
Shabana Azmi is an actress who has tackled some social issues through her films. Unlike other public figures, she doesn't shy away from serious issues.
