The 2015 GQ Men Of The Year Awards honoured Bollywood's iconic actor Akshay Kumar with The Ultimate Man Of The Year Award.
We list our top five factors for this befitting title.
He is the Khiladi.
After many years of struggle as a background artist, Akshay made his mark in Bollywood as an action hero through Khiladi. He has a strong background in martial arts (with six black belts in karate) and has performed daredevil stunts for his films and reality shows. His recent action films include Rowdy Rathore, Special 26, Holiday, Baby and Gabbar Is Back.

He is the king of comedy.
Akshay's impeccable comic timings in films like Hera Pheri, Garam Masala and Housefull added to his burgeoning stardom. He has won numerous awards for his comedy performances at ceremonies like Filmfare, Stardust and IIFA. His latest action-comedy, Singh Is Bling, releases today, on October 2, 2015.

His jaw-dropping physique, sensuous romance and steamy love affairs have always been a highlight. He has shared an exotic onscreen chemistry with nearly all of his leading actresses, such as Aishwarya Rai, Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra. Akshay was named the Sexiest Man Alive by People Magazine India. Soon to become a fashion designer himself, he has bagged a number of style awards.
He is a family man.
Akshay seeks to impart a humble upbringing to his children by living economically and encouraging charitable support. While he follows a strict routine, he ensures that he makes time for family holidays. His cooking interests aren't limited to MasterChef India — he is quite the culinary artist at home, too, as per his wife, Twinkle Khanna, who gleefully tweeted about his chocolate parathas some months back.

He is a philanthropist.
Although largely discreet with his social works, he has donated huge sums for education and health-related causes, noticeably to underprivileged families. Of late, he donated 90 lakhs to drought-stricken farmers of Maharashtra. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Windsor in 2008 for his cinematic excellence and contribution to social work.
