5 Bridal Looks With Floral Hair Accessories

With summer in the air, who can resist adding a touch of Mother Nature’s gorgeous bounty to your bridal look? Flowers are traditionally used for decor, bouquets and jai malas, but you can also take advantage of summer’s blossoms by adding them in other unique ways to your wedding.

Adding a floral accessory to your hair is an easy way to complete your bridal look, whether you weave a cascade of stunning roses around a high bun or pin marigolds in your braid for an eye-catching waterfall effect—flowers are a simple way to instantly create an elegant and romantic effect to your bridal look.

Remember to leave the more elaborate floral arrangements/pins to your florist, keeping the simpler ones as projects for you to try yourself, where you can gently pin arrangements to your hair with a clip or bobby pin. Always have extra flowers on hand when you are doing it yourself! Also, don’t feel pressure to only use real flowers: we’ve seen brides with store-bought creative floral arrangements combined with embellishments like net and feathers that create a stunning visual presentation. The key is to keep it easy, hassle-free and completely reflective of your personal style.

When pinning fresh flowers to your hair, take advantage of the different ways to incorporate these luscious blooms. Have fun creating a floral tikka and if you have a local jewellery making shop, create floral earrings to match.

When choosing a floral embellishment for a traditional bun, your flower of choice can be simple, but still have a wonderfully high-impact effect in all of your photographs.

I love it when brides choose a gorgeously dramatic bridal look, and a floral finishing touch will add a hint of light femininity to a heavier look.

Remember to choose a colour either in the same colour family or one that’s a complementary colour to your bridal look, and have fun! Add subtle embellishments like net or feather to accessorise the look and choose one element to be the focal point of your hairstyle while your hair cascades down below it.

Take advantage of local florists and gardens (especially if you’re having a destination wedding!) and add them to your hair for radiantly carefree and airy feel to your wedding photos. You’re going to be celebrating, make sure that joy shines through in the pictures!

Flowers are an integral part of the traditional South Indian Bridal Look. These brides carefully select flowers based on their scent and vivid colours such as jasmine and marigolds.

Both of these flowers are easy to weave with needle and thread and pin to one’s hair. Feel free to add clip in hair extensions if you want a longer look. My recommendation is to use real hair extensions, although slightly pricier, it has a more natural appearance versus synthetic ones. Ask your hair stylist if you need help finding them.
