5 Beauty Must-Haves For Every Woman

The five must-have beauty products for every woman.

It doesn't have to cost a fortune to look beautiful, and it doesn't have to take an hour to get out the door every morning. Choosing the right products is half the secret to looking and feeling great. Here are the top beauty basics I swear by.

1. A Great Moisturizer

Whether you have dry, combination, sensitive or acne-prone skin, it still needs moisture and protection. Moisturizer should be tailored to your needs and problems. Decide what formulation you like best – whether serum, cream, beads, etc. Try to get a sample and use it as directed for best results.

I personally swear by Olay products. They not only work well, but they are inexpensive, smell great and I love the variety of formulations. Added SPF is an added bonus.

2. A Foolproof Mascara

Nothing makes eyes look bright and gorgeous more than mascara. Choose what kind of look of mascara you like as the brush is the key to either a more natural or dramatic look. Be sure to curl your lashes first, and wiggle the wand from root to tip. I like to saturate the lashes by going on top of them and then finishing off with another layer of applying in the usual way. I use the wand vertically to separate lashes and smooth out any clumping.

Recently, I've been using the Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara and really like how long, voluminous and separated my lashes are. The price is fantastic, and I like that the brush is small and great for all shapes of eyes.

3. Blush/Bronzer/Glow

Laura Mercier’s Bonne Mine 5 palette, universal compact is amazing. It contains bronzer, highlighter (as I like to call J.Lo glow), cheek colour to “wake” skin up for that “no makeup, makeup look”. Skin truly glows.

It also contains cards with instructions for foolproof makeup application. The colours look great on every skin tone.

4. Eye Shadow

5. Hello Flawless Concealer/Foundation/Powder

Hello Flawless by Benefit is truly amazing. This product can be used wet or dry as well as layered.

Apply with a concealer brush and use as concealer for full coverage. Wet and use as foundation for medium coverage or simply dust on as a powder. It also comes in a variety of hues for flawless looking skin.
