PK director Rajkumar Hirani is all set to make a biopic on Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt with Ranbir Kapoor in the lead.
While Hirani has indicated that the film will be honest and cover various aspects of Sanjay's life, he has not divulged more details. We note four interesting features of Sanjay's journey that make his story unique and intriguing below.
1. He Is the son of Sunil and Nargis Dutt.
As a son of renowned actors Sunil and Nargis Dutt, Sanjay was born into a Bollywood legacy. His is also a political family, with his late father Sunil Dutt having been elected to the Indian Parliament multiple times, representing the Indian National Congress party. Sanjay's sister, Priya Dutt, is also a politician. His mother's loss at the advent of his film career is said to have deeply affected him and led him to substance abuse.

2. He is Bollywood's Khalnayak and Munna Bhai.
Sanjay instantly charmed everyone with his youthful passion, as seen in debut film Rocky as well as romantic hits like Saajan and Sadak. He reinvented his look with gangster roles in Khalnayak and Vaastav. He added yet another layer of versatility to his work through comic roles in the Munna Bhai series. His tough-guy persona alongside a gentle and humble nature have earned him a huge fan following.

3. He is imprisoned for illegal possession of arms.
The big turning point of his life was the 1993 Mumbai blasts, after which he was convicted of illegal possession of arms. Since then, his visits to jails and courts have been a recurring pattern, making him a controversial figure for many people. His current jail term ends in December 2016.

4. His love life is nothing short of a roller-coaster ride.
Sanjay was married to Richa Sharma, who lost her life to a brain tumour. He has a daughter, Trishala, with Sharma. His marriage to Rhea Pillai lasted some years, ending in divorce. He is currently married to Manyata Dutt and has two children with her. His love affairs with actresses Tina Munim, Madhuri Dixit and Lisa Ray have also filled gossip columns.
