2014 FIFA World Cup Fever Is Here!
Are you ready for the biggest worldwide sports competition?
FIFA World Cup is just around the corner and you can believe the 208 Member Associations of FIFA are getting ready to deliver some great footy.
The world cup which is takes place every four years since its inaugural tournament back in Uruguay (1930) brings the world centre stage for a battle off of pure soccer skill.
Over the past 19 World Cups, the title of champion has been awarded to eight different national teams. Brazil five times, Italy with four, Germany three, Argentina and inaugural winners Uruguay with two, and France, England and Spain all having been rewarded one title each.
So far the list of favourites for the cup are: Spain, Germany, England, Argentina, Brazil and Portugal, with Belgium being the underdog that could make it far this year.
32 teams will be competing for the cup and this year's sunny location of Brazil.
This is the final phase of the competition, as the qualification phase and the Preliminary Competition have already taken place over the last three years to determine which teams qualify for the tournament. For the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, a total of 204 teams across six continents entered the preliminary competition fighting for the available 31 spots.
Coverage for the games in India will be hosted by several football icons including Bollywood actor-producer and sports enthusiast John Abraham. Together they are all joining forces to change the way the FIFA World Cup will be viewed in India. Sony SIX is preparing to put forth two live shows "Café Rio" which John Abraham will be a part of and "Football Extraaa" which will be broadcasted on all match days. These shows will be covering and analyzing the matches with some of the greatest legends of football.
The two shows, each adding their own flavour to football viewing and coverage will be broadcasted across the Indian subcontinent with Sony SIX as the exclusive broadcaster.

FIFA will begin June 12th and go through to July 13th with the next world cups already in place, Russia in 2018, and Qatar in 2022.
