As February, the month of love, has come and gone, quite a few wedding proposals took place — and that means the preparations for summer weddings are in full force!
Weddings in the South Asian tradition generally mean a whole host of craziness with people you haven't seen since you were five, getting an invitation because your grandma went to their sister's son's best friend's wedding 10 years ago.
Below, we look at 10 things you'd only find at a South Asian wedding.
1. Too Many People

You can almost guarantee you won't know 50 per cent of the people who attend your wedding.

Suddenly, it's okay for the aunties to sleep on the floor — as long as everyone can fit!

8. Matchmaking for Singles

If you're single and attending a South Asian wedding, aunties will almost certainly try to hook you up with a potential girl or boy — much like speed dating.
9. Stealing the Groom's Shoes
It's tradition for the bride's side to try and steal the groom's shoes, and the groom's side will then have to pay them to retrieve the stolen footwear. The groom isn't allowed to leave without his original shoes. Sometimes this process can take half the night….
10. Crazy Offbeat Dancing
Almost everyone feels the need to dance at South Asian weddings, even the groom — but that doesn't mean they can dance!
